- AAAAmmmmppppllllooootttt reads an aaaammmmdddduuuummmmpppp output file that Amanda generates
- each run (e.g. _a_m_d_u_m_p._1) and translates the information
- into a picture format that may be used to determine how your
- installation is doing and if any parameters need to be
- changed. AAAAmmmmppppllllooootttt also prints out aaaammmmdddduuuummmmpppp lines that it either
- does not understand or knows to be warning or error lines
- and a summary of the start, end and total time for each
- backup image.
-
- AAAAmmmmppppllllooootttt is a shell script that executes an aaaawwwwkkkk program
- (_a_m_p_l_o_t._a_w_k) to scan the aaaammmmdddduuuummmmpppp output file. It then
- executes a ggggnnnnuuuuppppllllooootttt program (_a_m_p_l_o_t._g) to generate the graph.
- The aaaawwwwkkkk program is written in an enhanced version of awk,
- such as GNU awk (ggggaaaawwwwkkkk version 2.15 or later) or nnnnaaaawwwwkkkk.
-
- During execution, aaaammmmppppllllooootttt generates a few temporary files
- that ggggnnnnuuuuppppllllooootttt uses. These files are deleted at the end of
- execution.
-
- See the _a_m_a_n_d_a(8) man page for more details about Amanda.

- The _a_m_d_u_m_p__f_i_l_e_s may be in various compressed formats

- the moment aaaammmmdddduuuummmmpppp was started. The Y axis is divided into 5
- regions:
-
- _Q_U_E_U_E_S: How many backups have not been started, how
- many are waiting on space in the holding disk and how
- many have been transferred successfully to tape.
-
- %_B_A_N_D_W_I_D_T_H: Percentage of allowed network bandwidth in
- use.
-
- _H_O_L_D_I_N_G _D_I_S_K: The higher line depicts space allocated
- on the holding disk to backups in progress and
- completed backups waiting to be written to tape. The
- lower line depicts the fraction of the holding disk
- containing completed backups waiting to be written to
- tape including the file currently being written to
- tape. The scale is percentage of the holding disk.
-
- _T_A_P_E: Tape drive usage.
-
- %_D_U_M_P_E_R_S: Percentage of active dumpers.
-
- The idle period at the left of the graph is time aaaammmmdddduuuummmmpppp is
- asking the machines how much data they are going to dump.
- This process can take a while if hosts are down or it takes
- them a long time to generate estimates.
